EZVIZ App Reviews

App is great, functional

Trying to remember this review is about the app, not the camera, which is awesome. I found the app to be perfectly functional without too many settings and options to make it difficult. I downloaded it and had it working in a minute or two. I have had it for a couple of weeks and never experienced a glitch yet. Naturally, your experience depends on your bandwidth. For me, Im limited as my home is on a RF modem and my phone limited to 3G, but Im happy.

Just open and close in iphone 5

Ios 8.1.2

Good App but on iOS9 only iPhone 4 size

The App is pretty good but on iOS9 it does not fit to the screen on iPhone 5S. It just has the size of iPhone 4. Please fix this.

Works great!

Also full screen with iOS9 on the iPhone5. It only works with hikvision cams. It would be great if other p2p cams would work too...

App crash

App wont open after update on my iPhone 6.....please fix!!!

App crashing - my solution

First I deleted the app from my iPad. Used Safari to search for "ezviz app download" and selected the "Mobile app - ezviz". Next select your device type. For me, I selected for iPhone as it does not mention for iPad. Next you are sent to the App store with Get/Buy/iCloud for this EZVIZ International app. This new download works for me as they probably fixed the bug.

Update problem

False sense of security.951-852-2463

I want this app to work, I love Hikvision cameras, and I do believe in edge storage. But the app simply doesnt seam to work for me, I believe it requires open router ports which a typical upnp router will configure, but I have that feature disabled for security. If the manufacture can show me that this doesnt require open ports, and assist me in making it work, I will update this review, until then, look at axis! Edit: upon further investigation, I believe axis companion also uses upnp port forwarding. This leaves synology surveillance station with cloud connection, and iVideon as the only options I have tested that dont open ports, and/or force all traffic offsite at all times. I have upgraded the rating to a 2, but wish all security developers would start rethinking surveillance connectivity.

Decent, but not great

The iPhone 6 was released nearly a year ago, and the app was updated August 15th. To see an app dedicated to viewing HD security cameras not scale to full screen is, to say the least, annoying. I find the entire process of using HIKVision cameras with EZVIZ to be awkward and odd to setup. 1. Enable the feature within the cameras. 2. Create an account with EZVIZ. 3. Add each camera using the serial number (only the last 9 digits). 4. Find the device specific password (printed only on the camera body, or SSH to the device (must manually enable) and use ‘showKey’) 5. Login to app. 6. Enter the security key again (oh, you didn’t write it down? go get the camera off its mount, again (or SSH)). While the security is nice, using an encryption key that is printed only on the camera body itself is again, annoying…security cameras are mounted in hard to reach locations, away from easy access, and difficult to remove, hopefully. Then again, EZVIZ isn’t even touted as a feature of the cameras. You’d never know it was for HIKVision cams or supported by the same unless you went out of your way to figure out what the tap was in the cam config). Useful, but seriously wonky. Also, no multi-cam view in the app. Why? Because.

OK, but lack of modern device support frustrating

It mainly does what its supposed to, and does it well. However, the fact that the app isnt optimized for iPhone 5+ with widescreen displays is unacceptable.

It works

Seems to be ok, gets stuck in full screen sometimes . Some graphic bugs to work out. Also was not able to access my pictures to save snapshot and videos. Setting permissions did not help

Solid App after update issues

New version supports larger screen for my iPhone 6. No more black bars, thanks! Update: Live video streaming now works over cellular LTE network. It has been fixed apparently.
